A remarkable excerpt concerning Met. Anthony Khrapovitsky (from a post by Fr. Elia Yenovkian, on the Paradosis/Orthodox-Tradition Forum):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/orthodox-tradition/message/59943?threaded=1&l=1

"It seems to be little known that the body of Metropolitan Anthony [Khrapovitsky] was reported incorrupt by Serbian grave diggers. This was mentioned by Bishop Gregory [Grabbe] at the time Metropolitan Philaret's body was discovered to be incorrupt, which was, of course, very unwelcome news to Vladika Lavr, who downplayed it as much as possible."

With all due respect for His Eminence, concerning the allegedly "incorrect views on a dogma which is central in our Christian doctrine—the dogma of redemption" imputed to Bl. Metropolitan Anthony Khrapovistky, it should be noted that it is far from obvious that Bishop Photii's views on this issue reflect the _consensus patrum_, or, in particular, the understanding of such contemporary theologians and saints as St. Philaret the Confessor, St. John (Maximovich), Bl. Justin (Popovich), or Hieromartyr Archbishop Ilarion (Troitsky).

A useful review of Bl. Metropolitan Anthony's teaching on the dogma of redemption and some of its patristic support is available online, at: "Sacred Synod of the True Orthodox Church of Greece - His Eminence, Metropolitan Makarios of Toronto, Locum tenens - Resolution of the Sacred Synod Concerning The Dogma of Redemption by Metropolitan Anthony Khrapovitsky" http://orthodoxyinfo.org/Resolution%20Dogma%20of%20Redemption.pdf

In addition to a comprehensive discussion of the place of the teaching of Metropolitan Anthony of blessed memory in the Orthodox Church, the document highlights some of the ecclesiological, and even political, implications of this important dogmatic issue.

In Christ,
